Eve McDougall, devoted wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 11, 2023.

Born outside Boston to the large Martin family, Eve pursued an early career in catering that eventually brought her to Seattle, serving as a hostess at Club 21 during the World’s Fair. In 1963, she was persuaded to become the catering manager for the newly built Edgewater Inn, where she enjoyed expressing her love of food, fashion, and music. While at the Edgewater, Eve met Dr. Bill McDougall, to whom she was married for 43 years, and together raised their beloved son, Jamie.

Bill & Eve frequently took their boat to visit Port Ludlow, making it their escape from the hustle and bustle of life in Seattle. After retirement they moved there full time and became quite involved in the community they loved. Eve most enjoyed serving as Chair and Director of many fashion shows for the Jefferson General Hospital Auxiliary, singing in choirs and with the Port Ludlow Rockettes, attending Elks Club events, and supporting countless celebrations at the Port Ludlow Beach Club over the years.

Eve’s energy knew no bounds, her generosity knew no limits. She was truly a friend to all, and her friends meant the world to her. Her passing will leave a hole in her community and in our hearts, and we will miss her dearly.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday August 18th from 1pm-4pm at The Beach Club in Port Ludlow.
