Daniel "Pete" Stenger, 54, died February 8, 2024, surrounded by his family at his Port Townsend home. Daniel was born on April 29, 1969, in Edmonds WA.

He was an avid hunter and fisherman; he loved hot cars and Karaoke. He had a wicked sense of humor. Daniel could often be found at Kai Tai Park, handing out water and snacks to the unhoused in Port Townsend. He found much joy in serving others-- driving the elderly to church, caregiving, and running errands. A member of the First Presbyterian Church of Port Townsend, Daniel's faith was paramount in his life.

In 1988, Daniel graduated from Chimacum High School where he and several classmates refurbished the fishing vessel, "Catalina". The project was the highlight of his high school days. He worked many jobs, including restaurant work, fish processing and driving a taxi.

Daniel was preceded in death by his father, Dan Meyer (Susan Stenger), and leaves behind his daughter, Taschia Stenger; granddaughter, Georgia Stenger; sister, Danelle Greer (John); half-brother, David Wakefield (Jessica); and his mother, Susan Stenger, along with many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

An open memorial service will be held on April 13, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church of Port Townsend, with a private celebration of life to follow. Instead of flowers, donations may be made to UNICEF.
