Consuelo Aduviso Brennan passed away on Aug. 9 at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle after suffering a stroke in July. Consuelo was a beloved wife, mother, daughter, sister, teacher, director, actor, and friend. She was born on Sept. 25, 1965, in Jacksonville, Flor. to Don and Aurora Aduviso. She was raised in Hayward, Calif., and studied at Tennison High School, Chabot College, California State University-Hayward, and the Professional Actors Conservatory in Orange County, Calif. Her main passions were her family and the theater. She met her husband Marshall in Los Angeles in 1993 and they married in November of 1999. Consuelo gave birth to Tiburcio Joseph Brennan in August 2000. The family moved to Port Townsend in 2004.
Consuelo’s professional acting career included preforming on stage and in film in Los Angeles, Seattle, Portland, and Port Townsend. She was a member of the Actors Equity Association and the Screen Actors Guild. Consuelo appeared in many “industrial” films and was also in commercials, television shows and several independent films. She acted in many local theater productions with Key City Public Theater and the Paradise Theater School.

For the last 12 years, Consuelo has also been a teacher with the Olympic Home School Connection with the Crescent School District. Teaching allowed Consuelo to introduce young people to another of Consuelo’s passions, the works of William Shakespeare. Every year, she would help direct her students in a full-length production of a Shakespearean play.
Consuelo was a dedicated volunteer. She was a member of the Port Townsend Sunrise Rotary and volunteered hundreds of hours in various roles at Chimacum schools and numerous theater companies.

In her honor, Sunrise Rotary will team with the Jefferson County Health Department outreach team to periodically host a blood pressure/stroke awareness booth at the Port Townsend Farmers Market. Also, Sunrise Rotary plans to have annual scholarships for youth theater education in Consuelo’s name.

Consuelo is survived by her husband, Marshall; son, Tiburcio; mother, Aurora Aduviso, and siblings Don Aduviso and LizaDawn Aduviso Ramirez. Consuelo is remembered by a loving extended family of in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. She was a wonderful person who had a positive impact on hundreds of lives.

A funeral mass will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 16 at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Port Townsend. Also on Saturday, a celebration of life for Consuelo will be held at 4 p.m. at the Old Alcohol Plant Hotel in Port Hadlock.
