Chester Bernard Rideout, 79, passed away at his home in East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania on June 12, 2023 after a four-month heroic struggle with ALS.
Pursuing his doctorate degree in the ecology of the mountain goat, he taught high school science in Berthoud, Colorado. Married to Eleanor “Lynn” Rideout, he retired to Port Townsend, bicycled, kayaked, and sang in “Shady Grove" for many years. Finally moving to be close to their two children in Port Angeles, he succumbed to ALS in the arms of his wife. He will be sorely missed.
