Three new COVID-19 cases reported in Jefferson County late Tuesday

Three more confirmed cases of COVID-19 were announced late Tuesday by Jefferson County Public Health officials.

The new cases have pushed the total number of COVID-19 infections in Jefferson County to 151.

Two of the new cases were found in Port Townsend residents; both were women in their 20s. The other case involved a man in his 30s from the mid-county area.

The two-week COVID case rate was reported at 156.74 per 100,000 people Tuesday (the rate covers the time frame of Nov. 8 through Nov. 21).

County health officials said 86 patients in Jefferson County have recovered from COVID-19 and are no longer hospitalized.

No deaths in the county have been linked to the coronavirus.

A total of 12,611 patients have been tested for the coronavirus since the start of the pandemic, and 12,414 have tested negative, according to Jefferson County Public Health.

Test results are still pending for 46 people.

Health officials said 25 county residents remain in isolation due to COVID concerns.

So far, 79 COVID cases have been found in Port Townsend residents; 58 in mid-county residents; and 14 in south county (Quilcene, Brinnon, and West Jefferson).

Most of the confirmed cases of the coronavirus in Jefferson County have been found in men; 77 through late Tuesday. Seventy-seven women who live in the county have tested positive for COVID-19 through Nov. 25.
