OK, we’ll say this right up front. This is a love letter — for our Port Townsend Co-op (its leadership and all its employees and volunteers).
Their immediate, supportive, thoughtful and generous response to the community when COVID reared its ugly head was outstanding and has never wavered through all these months.
In addition to providing all the necessary and appropriate protections in the store itself, without hesitation they established processes to protect their older, ill or otherwise needy customers by providing free delivery of online orders or pick-up service at the store — essentially without an additional charge. They have been nothing but gracious and helpful throughout the development of their new systems and procedures.
Every person we have talked or dealt with has been gracious and entirely focused on making grocery shopping easier for those who need assistance.
As members of the Port Townsend community and the Co-op, we encourage Co-op shoppers to express their gratitude loud and clear to our local Co-op and offer them the kudos they deserve!
