PT wins in last-second battle with Chimacum

Posted
Port Townsend’s Redhawks defeated the Chimacum Cowboys in a nail-biting last quarter of the home game at Memorial Field on Nov. 1. Steadily two points behind Chimacum for the first three quarters of the game, both teams pulled out the stops for the final quarter, scoring one right after the other. Chimacum scored an additional six points in the final quarter, but could not beat the Redhawks, who gained 12 points as the clock ran out. The exceptional final play happened in the blink of an eye, as Redhawk quarterback Noa Montoya passed the ball from the right sideline to running back Dylan Tracer, who managed to throw the ball through the bottleneck to Josh Davis, open in the right corner of the end zone. The final score was Port Townsend 24, Chimacum 22. Both teams have just one final game left in the season. Port Townsend will play Sultan on Nov. 8, while Chimacum will play Concrete on Nov. 7.
