It’s “Take 2” for 20-year Port Townsend resident Jeff Eichen’s online workshop covering photography techniques, Photoshop editing and light-room staging.
Eichen, who studied under Ansel Adams and Brett Weston when he was younger, planned to pass on the lessons he’d learned through a nine-week class open to “home-schoolers and beyond,” from ages 7 to 100.
Unfortunately, an errant slash in previous coverage of the course rendered the web address to sign up incorrect.
The correct address is bpt.me/4585434 and the class is still open to any students interested in applying.
“If they want to view the first three classes, I will send them the links so they can get caught up,” Eichen said. “It may be just the thing to get you and your kids seeing and creating things you never imagined.”
Eichen pledged to assist any students or families who might need scholarships to take part in the class during the coronavirus pandemic.
“You can use a cell phone, an iPad camera or any real digital camera,” Eichen said. “I will teach from the camera to the computer to the printer. While our kids are at home, let’s give them online art and assignments to bring them outside into nature, to explore their world through the lens.”

“Attendance is limited, so hurry,” said Eichen, who noted the series will conclude with a “Feel the Light” virtual art exhibit and Zoom party-night celebration. “I will also be printing a Highway 101 Series Photography and Photoshop Tips, Tricks and Fixes Magazine, as a bonus online purchase. We should take advantage of this time to engage our children and ourselves with visual art classes, to turn our creativity and dreams into realities.”
