My vote is for Heidi Eisenhour

I am writing in support of Heidi Eisenhour for District 2 Jefferson County commissioner.

The time is right to get Heidi into a decision-making role to address the needs of our citizens as we navigate the rough waters ahead. A key to surviving and even thriving through the pandemic and its aftermath is her connection with the community in a wide variety of ways. Her efforts to preserve and care for our environment and economy transcend petty politics and identity. As one of Heidi’s mentors Tom Jay pointed out, economy is the “counting of the house” and ecology is the caring for it. She has learned well, rising through the ranks of nonprofits, preserving their missions while adjusting to budgetary realities. In her current role as chief operations officer at the Northwest Maritime Center, she is charged with overseeing a multi-million-dollar budget and dozens of staffers – a perfect preparatory role for a commissioner.

Collaborative, creative, optimistic and realistic, Heidi has become adept at leveraging a mix of public funding and market-driven methods to keep landowners whole while fostering cherished places for generations to come. Her outreach to the sheriff and county court representatives shows an astute preparation for adjudicating the largest parts of the county budget on which she will collaborate. She is well known in the corridors of power in Olympia and is already endorsed by our state Senate rep. Kevin Van De Wege. This embrace will make her only more effective as she crafts policy and optimizes our place at the table for funding and support within the legislature.
