Mask science inconclusive

Posted

Did you know, the World Health Organization says, “there is no specific evidence to suggest that the wearing of masks by the mass population has any potential benefit. In fact, there is some evidence to suggest the opposite.” Epidemiology experts, the Surgeon General and even the flip-flopping CDC say, “they can increase the risk of infection” and “they are not effective.”

Re wearing masks to protect others, peer-reviewed evidence on universal mask-wearing to reduce community spread remains inconclusive.

But opinions may differ... that is, unless social media titans Google/YouTube, FaceBook, Twitter, etc. have their way, taking down any differing medical opinions they consider false (including those mentioned above). Last week Facebook said, “Suggesting that wearing a mask can make you sick could lead to imminent harm, so we’re removing the video.” Twitter marks URLs that warn of mask dangers as “unsafe.” YouTube quickly removes content it considers “medically unsubstantiated.”

Coincidentally, last year’s acclaimed “Watchmen” HBO series about police in masks concluded with the poignant line: “You can’t heal under a mask... wounds need air to heal.”  Now in real life, dreadful thought police lock down debate to push fearful mask-wearing on everyone. If our sick society is going to heal from the plague of delusion that is assailing us, it is going to require air, not muzzling healthy people’s mouths so they cannot breathe or talk or connect or restore community.
