Port Townsend Marine Science Center kicks off its Future of Oceans lecture series at 3 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 8 with a presentation by citizen scientist David Bonnett, who is to talk about research on the Amazonian pink dolphin (Inia geoffrensis). Bonnett explains how ecosystem changes in the Amazon are impacting this species and how this research relates to the local cetacean species. His research grows from decades of underwater acoustical research and designing ultraquiet vessels, according to a press release.

The presentation takes place at the Fort Worden Chapel. Admission is $5; students and teachers are free. Assisted listening devices are available.
