‘Feel Good, Do Good’ yoga supports Dove House with online class

The next “Feel Good, Do Good” yoga benefit will run from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Monday, June 1, with an online yoga class to benefit Dove House Advocacy Services, which provides services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and general crimes.

Those wanting to take this class, to be taught by yoga teacher Karyn Stillwell, should make a donation on the special link on Dove House’s website to get an email to participate in the online class.

An alternative way to donate is via check mailed or dropped off at 1045 10th St. in Port Townsend, making sure you add your email and that the donation is for the “Feel Good, Do Good” yoga benefit.

Beulah Kingsolver, executive director of Dove House, said families healing from trauma and rebuilding their lives face unusual challenges as a result of COVID-19.

“Survivors need to keep their phones supplied with minutes, in addition to finding ways to continue paying rent and household bills, cope with isolation and reorient their home lives to help kids access school,” Kingsolver said.

Kingsolver added that Dove House is providing emergency hotel rooms for more nights and to more people than usual as they wait for safety plans and orders of protection to get into place.

“And we’re taking extra steps at our emergency shelter to assist people in staying safe, healthy and connected,” Kingsolver said. “Your donation will help support all of these efforts. During this time, we are especially grateful for our local donors.”
