CHILD CARE

Salish Coast Elementary. Provides emergency child care for the families of health-care professionals, first responders and other workers who need to continue working during closure and are unable to provide other means of safe supervision. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE

Dove House Advocacy Services. Advocacy, basic needs, housing assistance and other resources for recent and past victims of domestic violence, sexual assault and general crime. Offering a Rapid Response Rental Assistance Fund for people who need immediate financial assistance to avoid homelessness or long-term debt from which they could not recover. OlyCAP. Providing increased emergency funds for energy, rent and frozen meals to people now facing unemployment. Visit olycap.org.

Society of St. Vincent DePaul. Provides financial aid for food, gas, utilities, rent, bus passes, emergency shelter, prescriptions, medical and dental expenses, repairs, insurance, clothing and laundry. Leave a message to make an appointment. Visit svdpejc.org or call 360-379-1325.

Jefferson County Mutual Aid. Provides financial aid for food, gas, utilities, bus passes, prescriptions, repairs, insurance, clothing and laundry. Jefferson County Immigrant Rights Advocates (JCIRA). Offers financial assistance for immigrants and their families. Visit jcira.org, email JCIRAwa@gmail.com or call 360-232-6070.

LION COVID-19 Emergency Loan Program. LION has established a new loan program for Jefferson County businesses and nonprofits that need funds to deal with the COVID-19 emergency. A fast-track process has been established to handle the applications. Visit l2020.org/LION.

 

FOOD BANKS

At this time, clients should line up in their cars in front of the buildings and volunteers will come outside to assist you. Please be patient during this time of increased need and new systems.

FOOD FOR YOUNG PEOPLE

All school systems are providing food to young people on weekdays. All are providing pick-up and delivery by school buses to their usual pick-up points. On weekends, the three weekend feeding programs—Backpacks for Kids PT, Chimacum Backpacks and Weekend Nutrition Program in Quilcene—are providing weekend food.

While closed, schools are allowed to provide food to all children up to age 18, but not their caregivers.

Community Wellness Project. Food for adult caregivers in low-income families. The Community Wellness Project is filling the gap by working with the Chimacum School District to identify families in need and coordinate food delivery for caregivers in low-income families. Just Soup. Tuesdays and Fridays, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 1020 Jefferson St. Drive up to the parking lot entrance on Franklin Street. MEDICAL & MENTAL HEALTH

JC MASH. Due to COVID-19 concerns, Jefferson County’s free clinic is temporarily not seeing patients at its downtown Port Townsend location, but is open for telephone and telemedicine consultations every Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. Call 360-385-4268, leave a message if needed, a nurse will answer, and a doctor will call you. All members of the community with limited access to medical care, for whatever reason, are invited to take advantage of this free service. Visit jcmash.org.

The Benji Project. Mindful self-compassion for middle and high school-age students. Trained teachers host free one-hour sessions to share stress relief and connection and coping practices twice a week. PRESCRIPTION DELIVERY

Jefferson Family Pharmacy. No delivery charges to Quilcene, Sequim, Discovery Bay and the Hood Canal Bridge area. They can only deliver to Quilcene on weekdays and request at least one-day notice. Call 360-385-3005.

QFC Pharmacy in Port Hadlock. No postal charges to mail prescriptions. They’re working with a delivery service to arrange in-person delivery. Call 360-385-1070.

Safeway Pharmacy. Through May 1, they’ve waived delivery fees for same- or next-day pharmacy deliveries and mail, except for one- or two-hour rush delivery orders. Call 360-385-2860.

Discovery Behavioral Health. DBH continues to fill prescriptions, with enough supplies to last patients until their next appointments. If you need a refill before your next prescriber visit, call the main DBH number at 360-385-0321.
