Irene Clark has lived on Bainbridge Island for over 50 years and is most well-known around here from her time as cook and co-owner at the Streamliner Diner in the 1980’s. However, Irene has also been an artist specializing in drawing all her life. Irene Clark has lived on Bainbridge Island for over 50 years and is most well-known locally from her time as cook and co-owner at the Streamliner Diner in the 1980’s. However, Irene has been an artist specializing in drawing all her life. She attended the Art Students League in New York City, studying under Marshall Glasier. After starting her family in the San Francisco Bay Area, she moved to Bainbridge Island and apprenticed as a cook at the Streamliner Diner. Soon she was co-owner and documented the community there with there line drawings which were featured in The Streamliner Diner Cookbook which she co-authored and illustrated. She is also a longtime Monday morning docent for BIMA.
